Our Services | Dog Training

Training is an important part of any pup’s life. Pups have their own special needs and natural instincts. They communicate differently than we humans do, and many of their normal behaviors are counterintuitive to our own. When we bring a new dog or puppy into our lives, regardless of their age, we are asking them to change much of what they are naturally inclined to do.

We not only need to teach them how to fit in, but teach ourselves about their needs as well as adjust our expectations so that we can best communicate with them. This helps to create the most ideal situation for our pups to become well behaved and well mannered members of our family.

Here at Woof Pet Resort, we understand that all dogs learn a little differently, as do their “parents.” As such, all of our training programs are customized to fit your needs and expectations.

Private Training Lessons

These lessons are 1-on-1 with our trainer at our facility. In these lessons we discuss theory of dog learning and we will practice behaviors in a distraction free environment to ensure that you understand the principles of how and why the techniques work for you and your pup.

Single and multi-lesson packages are available.

Canine Good Citizen

As you work with our trainer to teach your pup the CGC skills, you’ll discover the many benefits and joys of continued training. You’ll enhance your bond with your dog, and dogs with obedience training are a joy to live with—interacting well with other people and dogs as well as responding well to household routines.

The CGC program offers many practical advantages too. Some homeowner’s insurance companies encourage CGC testing, and an increasing number of apartments and condos require that resident dogs pass the CGC test.

The tagline of the CGC program is, “Responsible Owners, Well-Mannered Dogs,” and that is what CGC is all about.

In Home Lessons

These lessons are 1-on-1 with our trainer at a location of your choosing (home, park, department store, on the sidewalk outside your house…). These lessons not only allow us to discuss theory and practice of behavior, but provide the opportunity to work through and overcome the distractions of everyday life.

June 2017

Bob, the trainer at Woof, is excellent. We have already gone through a handful of personal in home trainings and, as a result of Bob's help, the little guy and us have become much more confident. Bob is very personal and full of knowledge and would recommend him to anyone looking for a personal dog trainer.
